Upper School
The Upper School comprises of pupils in years 7 and 8, the final two years at Junior King's before the children moving onto their chosen senior school. The Upper School is the largest section of the Prep School and each child is in a form with approximately fifteen other pupils. Each form has two form teachers and they are responsible for monitoring their academic progress and their pastoral care; there is a strong link between pupils, parents and form teachers.
All Upper School pupils are taught by a variety of teachers and we are able to provide specialist teachers in all areas of the curriculum to all pupils. Some academic subjects are set across the year groups in the Upper School to ensure that the teaching is pitched at the right level and pace. From past experiences this has had a hugely positive effect on pupils’ learning and breathes confidence into their own abilities. Music, Art, Drama, ICT, DT and Sport are taught as part of the curriculum and allow us to broaden the lives of our young people and add to their ever-growing repertoire of skills.
There is great friendship and warmth between the pupils and teachers, and the Upper School pupils add a huge amount of energy and life to Junior King's; we are always very proud of their many successes and achievements.
