Scholarship

Two 11+ Academic Scholarships and two 11+ Academic Exhibitions will now be awarded to suitable internal or external candidates showing strong academic potential for the future.
Following our 11+ entry tests for external entrants to the school, suitable candidates (both internal and external) will be invited to attend a special 11+ Scholarship Day at the School.  They will have further extension tests in English, Maths and Thinking Skills and an individual interview with a senior member of staff. The next 11+ Scholarship day will be held on Tuesday 19th January 2012.
The maximum award available will be 5% full fees for a Scholarship and 2.5% full fees for an Exhibition and the awards would be held for two years only at the Junior School.
It is anticipated that award holders would be entered for 13+Academic Scholarships at the Senior School and that an award could be held in conjunction with a means-tested bursary. (Click here for the Bursary policy).

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Awards are tenable throughout the holder’s Junior King’s School career provided that the Headmaster is satisfied with the pupil’s diligence, progress, attitude and good conduct.
2. It is open to parents to renounce the emoluments of any award.  Their son or daughter will retain the Scholar’s or Exhibitioner’s status, and the funds released will be used to enable a boy or girl to come to King’s who would otherwise not be able to do so.
3. Candidates for all 11+ Scholarships and Awards  must be under 12 on 1 September of the year of entry.
Please note that the details outlined in this document are revised from time to time, and should be confirmed with the Registrar in the year of entry to the School.
