Children in Need

Our boarders and choir joined with our local community in Sturry for a joint Remembrance Day commemoration last Sunday at St Nicholas’ Church. We followed this with our own Remembrance service in the Memorial Garden at Junior King’s on Monday 11th November. Our children conducted themselves extremely well and understood both the importance and the solemnity of the occasions.

Kindness and respect are at the centre of our values and our focus on charity is an important part of life at our school. Junior House held their Bring and Buy Sale and we celebrated Children in Need with a variety of activities including karaoke, a cake sale and a pyjama party.

There is much to look forward to in the coming busy weeks. The opening of the Malthouse Theatre by Joanna Lumley will take place on Saturday. I am delighted that some of the cast of Peter Pan will be rehearsing at the Malthouse site that morning and a group of our fencers will be demonstrating their skills in the fencing salon too.

It is concert season. The King’s School Orchestra are performing a wonderful programme on Sunday night at 7.45pm at the Shirley Hall with an outstanding solo pianist not to be missed. Tickets are available from the Box Office or on the door and all parents and families are welcome to attend. At Junior King’s, we have our St Cecilia’s Day Concert on Thursday 21st November. I do hope that you can make these musical treats.

We look forward to hearing next week how our U11A hockey team got on at the Regional Finals.
