Community Links
Junior King’s seeks to be a positive member of the local community. We have very close links to the St Nicholas Church community in Sturry where the Head and Chaplain meet regularly with the parish committee and contribute to the life of the church. The School benefits from the use of this lovely church and have enjoyed joint events, such as the Church Fête, our school summer fair and the annual community Christmas event in the High Street in Sturry. We have been involved in the church’s educational developments too. In the wider local community, the Head of Junior King’s is the President of the Twinning Association, and our choir annually performs at the Fordwich Civic Service.
Our School is keen to support the local community and charities, and we hold regular events to raise both awareness and funds.
We have enjoyed our links with the local primary school science initiative to raise the standards of science teaching in our local area. Our school estate provides an excellent setting for environmental research – with our river and forest areas, and we are always happy to extend this to others for teaching and learning purposes.
During the holidays, our site is used for activity and holiday clubs which are extended to pupils outside our school too, which provide educational, sporting and creative opportunities during this period.
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for local people to enjoy the beautiful grounds, facilities, and catering which the school provides for special functions and events.
