Child Protection Policy
Junior King’s School fully recognises the contribution it can make to protect children and support pupils in school. The aim of our child protection policy is to safeguard and promote our pupils’ welfare, safety and health.
Our policy provides clear direction to staff and others about expected behaviour when dealing with child protection issues. We also make explicit the school’s commitment to the development of good practice and sound procedures. This ensures that child protection concerns, referrals and monitoring may be handled sensitively, professionally and in ways which support the needs of the child.
Any child protection concerns must be reported to the Headmaster, or his Deputy or the Head of Middle School without delay. Members of staff should also be aware of the conduct of adults within the school environment and if they have any concerns these must also be reported immediately.
Our school policy is based on and in accordance with The Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2006), Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education (2006) and other approved documents.
